What will Ofsted do with my answers?
Inspectors will consider what learners tell us about the provider and use this information during the inspection. Your views help us to understand how well the provider supports learners to achieve, belong and thrive – to make progress, feel included and develop the knowledge and skills that learners need for their next steps.
We may share a summary of learner feedback with the provider to help it reflect and improve. Survey responses are stored securely for up to six years and may also be used in Ofsted’s wider research or publications.
Will my information be kept confidential?
Yes. All responses are anonymous. The company managing this survey will collect the IP address of those responding. This will only be used in the unlikely event that there are problems with the validity of the survey responses.
How will my free text responses be used?
All comments are shared with the inspection team who will treat the information sensitively. Inspectors do not contact individual learners, so please do not include personal or contact details in your comments. The information you provide may help inspectors explore areas of evidence during an inspection.
Please do not report urgent issues or complaints about the provider through this survey. If you have a serious concern, please follow the Department for Education guidance available for this. Any comments on these areas may be shared with other agencies as required by law.
For some inspections, after inspectors have completed their work, we may test how well artificial intelligence (AI) software can summarise and identify themes in the written responses you have provided. This is to see whether the AI could make the process of inspection more efficient.
